Unfaithful

I'm sure you've picked up {especially if you watched the vlogs} that I attend a weekly Bible study/fellowship time with a group of local girls. These are women that even six months ago I might not have classified as my "friends", but today I could not imagine living life without them. I have learned more about myself and my relationships and my heavenly Father since June that I might have ever known before. He is teaching us and growing us and forcing us to think outside of the box. We started by reading The Purpose Driven Life which helps you to evaluate yourself and what you are called to do as a Christian. Then we read Outlive Your Life where we learned how we fit into the world and how we can and should make a difference in what is going on around us. Currently, we are reading Living ...

Bama v UT

Saturday was a LOT of fun. I was particularly fond of my gameday outfit, which is always a plus! I drove to Tuscaloosa by myself and it was a nice, QUIET drive. We tailgated at my cousin's on-campus apartment, just moments from Bryant-Denny. I had fried cheese from the end-zone concession stand and a very large Coke. There was a fighter jet flyover just after the national anthem that was awesome. The pilots were in stadium later in the night and unbuttoned their jumpsuits to reveal Bama tees. After a frustrating first half, the boys redeemed themselves and SD starting shaking his keys at the UT fans. It was time for them to head home! We sang a rousing' round of Rammer Jammer after the game. {Please forgive my squealing at the end. the iPhone is notorious for ...

Today

Our SD is already in Tuscaloosa this morning. We had a lazy morning and watched some Spongebob while we ate our breakfast. Both girls were up at 7 o'clock this morning {this is sleeping late} and believe it or not, that made 13.5 hours for Sophie! She fell asleep at 5:30 last night for a "nap" and never woke up. If you look closely, you can see my Watermelon coffee mug. I folded a trillion loads of laundry, drank two yummy cups of coffee and watched a few movies this morning. The girls built a makeshift fort behind Sophie's dollhouse and made her piggy bank squeal with some spare change. I planned my gameday outfit, new skinnies, red turtleneck and my puffy vest. I'm definitely taking a scarf and my fingerless gloves for today. It is perfect football weather! I thought about ...

Family Weenie Roast

Is it weird that we have family weenie roasts? If it is, I am SO glad we're weird. My parents have a rock fire pit in the back yard with big tree stumps to sit on. We had chili and potato soup and giant sticks to roast weenies and marshmallows. Revelation of the night? Roasted marshmallows are sticky, just ask Sophie! ...

Rodeo Cowgirl

This week, Ella got to enjoy her very first fall festival as a student. As luck would have it her dance class also performed in the rodeo themed show and did a tap dance from her first year as a dancer. It was beyond adorable to see them line up and dance for their friends - she was so excited knowing they were watching her. I was more excited about the fact that the booths were running out of candy and goldfish while my little one was strutting her stuff! Just in case you were wondering how well Sophie's lip was healing, here she is bouncing away in the moonwalk, oblivious to the gaping hole in her face. You would never have known she was four years younger than the other participants. She was running, turning flips and squealing at the top of her lungs! ...

Little Nugget

Since I'm not doing monthly posts now that Sophie is one, I decided maybe we should do a little update on what's going on in her world. It would probably make more sense to wait for Friday since she'll be officially 18 months old, but what's a few days, right? She was too sweet today and I couldn't wait to write about her. First up, stats. She weighed right at 21.5 pounds yesterday at the emergency clinic, but I'm not sure how tall she is. We have an 18 month well baby visit next week, so I'll be interested to see how she measures up. I still think of her as tall and skinny, but she is finally filling out. She has a round little belly and long legs. She can wear 12 months tops and dresses, but is in 18 months pants for sure. We have a few things for fall that are 24 months and I ...

eventful.

Today was eventful. SD is working in Beverly Hills this week {I guess since he posted that on Facebook today, I'll share it and remind you that I have a really large dog and a very protective father, so please don't visit me in the middle of the night!} and I was up at 3 o'clock this morning taking him to the airport. That comes pretty early in the day and I was exhausted by the time I got back home. A combination of the early morning airport run and Columbus Day causing Ella to have no school today, prompted me to work from home. Luckily, she had her cousin Molly over to play most of the day and I had a very productive work day from the comfort of my own bed. Thank goodness because this little bitty took a tumble this afternoon that landed her in the ER. As Soph is prone to do, she was ...
