Project 365: Week Twenty-Five

June 24, 2012 by Kristin Fields Leave a Comment

I’m a little behind on posting my weekly photos, so I decided this was as good a time as any!

Our first week home from the beach was hard. It was an adjustment. Nobody wanted to work, or get up early or do anything productive. It was long and we were ready for the weekend about thirty minutes into Monday.

Sophie insisted that Tuck sit on the

Sunday, June 17 (Day 168): Unfortunately for Josh, we are always traveling home from the beach on Father’s Day. I always feel so bad for him, but there just isn’t a way around it. I think next year, we are going to try going a week later and see how it works out. We were on our way home from Gulf Shores when Sophie insisted that Tuck ride on the heat-hot. For those of you not “in the know”, the heat-hot refers to the armrest between the front two seats. Apparently I started calling it that as a wee bit and we’re not sure why exactly. Even still, EVERY child in our family has called it that!

Monday, June 18 (Day 169): Before work on Monday morning, I logged into Google Reader for the first time and saw there were 465 unread blog posts. Wow.

Haircuts for the littles!

Tuesday, June 19 (Day 170): On Tuesday, we went for MUCH needed haircuts. Ella’s curls start to get unruly the longer they get. She is really tender-headed and combing her hair out every day is something I avoid if at all possible. We opted for shoulder length this time and we both love it. It is so much easier to take care of and she looks so grown up! Sophie just got a little trim around the edges and my normally brave girl screamed the entire time.

Making the workday better, one Popsicle at a time! #steelcitypops @bpscott

Wednesday, June 20 (Day 171): Are you familiar with Steel City Pops? They are a gourmet popsicle shop in Homewood and their treats are to die for! Fortunately, they usually have a vendor near my office building with a few different flavors each day. This strawberry one was the perfect afternoon snack. They are all organic and made with all natural ingredients.

Bedtime reading...

Thursday, June 21 (Day 172): On Wednesday night I read so late that it was soon Thursday morning. I read the Paleo Diet thanks to a blog-friend’s recommendation and started the Sookie Stackhouse series while I was at the beach on the recommendation of another friend. Y’all, are you reading these? They are addicting!

Fingers crossed, haha :).

Friday, June 22 (Day 173): Josh called me at work to verify that I knew where the lottery tickets were. He was really worried we were going to win and he wouldn’t know it!

What today looks like...

Saturday, June 23 (Day 174): I was so thrilled that our work week was finally over. I stayed at the pool from 7 o’clock Saturday morning until almost 6 o’clock that night. We ate breakfast and lunch there, took naps there, read books and played with friends. It was heavenly!
