A Blog About My Favorite Things

Dailies / Week 3

Ella told her teacher she could go 100+ hours without talking and a challenge was born! In case you can't read kindergartener, this means "I can't talk because me and Mrs. Askew made a promise that I couldn't talk for four days." What I'm doing now: my first attempt at homemade chicken noodle soup. Tagged by @ouroklahomanest, tagging @ashawie20 @jenniferggreen @kaminw #widn 5 mile lunch break. 10:36 per mile. #teamfmf #halfmarathontraining

15/365: Ella wrote me this note when I stopped to pick her up from school. She entered a challenge with her teacher not to talk for 100 hours (student prompted, mind you). She made it 24 hours, which is a HUGE achievement for her. I also cooked up my first batch of homemade chicken noodle soup and it was YUMMY. 16/365: On Wednesday, I did my standard 5 mile run downtown. Only this week it jus happened to be 40 degrees and raining. It was probably my best time for a 5 miler yet, but I did some crazy looks and comments because of the weather.

The view from my office! Nothing says cold quite like curls and puffer coats! I rocked out 10 miles today. It was my first double-digit run! #halfmarathontraining #teamfmf

17/365: Thursday it snowed. I already told you how that went. Boo. 18/365: Sophie begged me to sponge-roll her hair before bed on Thursday night; how could I resist? She looked beyond adorable for school on Friday morning. 19/365: Saturday’s weather was beautiful and I got in my first ever double-digit run. I ran the first six with Megan and pounded out four by myself after that. I had a serious runner’s high and NO fatigue afterwards.

SURPRISE 60th birthday party for our sweet Poppy! My wild woman at lunch. I wish you could tell they were riding a ceramic pig?! Someone asked if they were twins... ummm, yeah, one is vertically challenged. I have been cleaning and organizing ALL. DAY. LONG. I still can't see the end end in sight and I really need to take down my Christmas decorations!!

After I recovered from the run, we helped Gran throw a pretty fantastic surprise party for my dad’s 60th birthday. SK insisted he have a pink cake! 20/365: Sunday after church we had lunch at a local BBQ restaurant and the girls wanted to pose for a picture riding a ceramic pig. Sorry the pig didn’t make the crop, but don’t they look adorable in those matching dresses? They wore them out the night before and someone in Wal-Mart asked me if they were twins?!?! I know the dresses are the same and that they are clearly sisters, but the size difference is unmistakable. People are weird. 21/365: I had the pleasure of being off work for MLK day on Monday and my goal was to clean house and take down my Christmas decorations (I know, I know, but who has time for that?). I didn’t get it all done, but I did make huge progress and even managed to organize a jewelry area near my closet. Hopefully this will help me get ready in the mornings.
